Texas State Affordable Housing Corporation is a
501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Our mission is to serve the housing needs of low-income Texans and other underserved populations who do not have comparable housing options through conventional financial channels.
TSAHC offers homeownership programs to specific individuals residing in Texas. Our Home Loan Programs provide a fixed interest rate on a 30-year FHA, VA or USDA loan to eligible homebuyers. In addition to a fixed interest rate, these programs offer down payment and closing cost assistance, up to 5% of the mortgage loan amount, in the form of a grant.
TSAHC can also provide an annual tax credit to qualifying first-time homebuyers through the issuance of a Mortgage Credit Certificate. With an MCC, the qualified homebuyer is eligible to take a portion of the annual interest paid on the mortgage as a special tax credit, up to $2,000, each year that they occupy the home as their principal residence. An MCC has the potential of saving the homebuyer thousands of dollars over the life of the loan and can be combined with our Home Loan Programs. TSAHC's homeownership programs are eligible to home buyers purchasing a home any where in Texas.
